The Society's Calendar

The Society hosts six monthly programs a year: March, April, May, September, October, and November.
The Board of Directors meets monthly to plan and conduct business between December and February.
The Society convenes its annual general meeting each June, before taking a two-month recess.

All programs presented by the Society or promoted on this website are free to attend.

Tour of Saint Stanislaus Cemetery

Join Bob Comeau of Holyoke Canal Tours as he guides you through one of Chicopee's largest garden cemeteries. This is the cemetery for Saint Stanislaus Parish in Chicopee.

Park inside the cemetery. The tour will begin at the cemetery's entrance. Bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk 1.5 miles.

Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk one mile.

At the Society's most important meeting of the year, rank-&-file members will have the chance to discuss and pitch plans for the coming year. The Board will report on the work completed over the past year and announce its Fall programs. The Society will also elect candidates to serve on the Board. All members and the general public alike are invited to participate.

 Join Bob Comeau of Holyoke Canal Tours on walk through two nineteenth-century garden cemeteries. The Holy Mother of the Rosary Cemetery was created in 1897 to serve the parish of the same name. Fairview Cemetery, originally called the New Cemetery was created in 1870 as other town cemeteries ran out of plots.

Park on Fanjoy or Rzasa Drive. The tour will meet in Holy Mother of the Rosary Cemetery. Bring comfortable shoes and bug spray. Be prepared to walk one mile.

 Join Bob Comeau of Holyoke Canal Tours for tour of industrial Chicopee's beating heart. The tour will follow Chicopee Canal Rail Trail and continue toward Wisniowski Park, the old town common.

The tour will meet at the Chicopee Public Library. Bring comfortable shoes and bug spray. Be prepared to walk two miles.

Through postcards and photos, CHS member Wren Wood takes you on a tour of the city's landmarks—both those lost and still standing. Join us to learn what threats decide if one building comes down while others around it stay up.
